To obtain a power of attorney, the applicant should call the Honorary Consulate (248-519-2496), or email (Consulate@SyrianConsulate.org) to schedule an appointment. The applicant should bring with him to the appointment his Syrian ID card or his Syrian passport. Then the applicant should send to the Syrian Embassy in Washington (2215 Wyoming Ave., N.W. Washington, D.C. 20008) the followings:

1. The power of attorney document signed in front of the Honorary Consul in Michigan.
2. The fee in money order ($18 for special purpose power of attorney, and $32 for general purpose one).
3. Copy of the Syrian ID card, or Syrian passport.
4. Consular registration form.
5. Self address envelope.

If the applicant cannot come in person then he needs to follow the directions outlined here.
