I am Syrian citizen living in US, I want to travel to Syria . Do I need to obtain a visa?

No, all Syrian citizens don’t need a visa to travel to their home country (even if they are traveling with US passport).

 

I am a male Syrian citizen living in US. My children were born in US. Do my children need a visa to travel to Syria?

No they don’t need a visa to Syria as long as you are traveling with them.

 

I am a female Syrian citizen living in US and married to a non-Syrian citizen. Do my children need a visa when they travel with me to Syria?

Yes, your children need a visa to be able to travel to Syria .

 

I am Syrian citizen living in US. I have not done my military service. Can I travel to Syria for a short visit?

Yes you can obtain a permit by filling out the application form and send it to the Syrian embassy in Washington : 2215 Wyoming Ave., N.W. , Washington D.C. 20008

 

How long time does it take to obtain a permit to travel to Syria for those who have not served their military service?

Normally six to eight weeks.

 

For how long time the permit is valid for, and for how many entries?

The permit expired three months from its issuance date, and valid for a single entry to Syria .

 

How often I can obtain a permit to travel to Syria ?

You can obtain one permit every one calendar year. (e.g., in 2006 you traveled to Syria in December, you can travel again in January 2007).

 

I traveled to Syria under the permission program, when I came back there was an emergency in the family within the same calendar year from my last trip. Can I apply for an exceptional permit?

Yes, when there is an unforeseen emergency in the family (death, serious illness), an exceptional and expedite request can be placed to obtain a new permit, even if there was a permit issued and used earlier within the same calendar year. Please note in this case you have to provide official documents proving the emergency situation.
